hmm

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

technically, it’s sunday.

that means I have 3 days to finish 7 papers, 18 pages total.
blast.

but I digress.
yesterday (technically), was the nicest day of the year! I went rollerblading and had a disco-craze with my friends. I also wore new socks! all in all, it was very warm.

somebody yelled at me today. I didn’t know them, but they told me to “pay fucking attention to the light, dumbass!” what they didn’t realize, was that the light was green. which meant I could go. I should have said “fuck you, dumbass, pedestrians have the right of way, ESPECIALLY if it’s a green fucking light, fucker.” but I didn’t. the time was to brief, and I’m too cool, so I ended up just giving him a thumbs up and continued my trek across the street.

then, after this terrible fiasco, I encountered someone I least expected to encounter: an old middle-school friend (mis-using hyphens rocks) whom I didn’t really wish to meet. I said “hello” and gave them a sly gesture of “hey, I don’t really like you” and they walked on, possibly in distress.

finally, I drew a picture of a dream I had.

I won’t post it until later, rather, I will wait to see how much anticipation I can draw from whoever wastes their time reading this useless, trivial blog.

look, it’s a picture of a pants!

sure, they’re pretty nice looking pants.

but they’re tear away pants, which can lead to sexy results (mirite?)

anyway, I should probably go outside and walk about listening to music (jenny rom and beforu… damn I’m a bemani-related music-whore.)

farewell, dear reader(s).

I really hate finals, even if they come with free edification.

hide ‘n’ seek

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

I am hungry, but don’t know where to go for food.
Or who to go with.

so instead, I’m going to hide around, not answer my phone and go rollerblade at a hidden venue.
where oh where could I be…

Chemistry of EcoRV and DNA plymerase

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

Goal: Understand the chemistry of phosphoester hydrolysis catalyzed by EcoRV and nucleotide ransfer reaction catalyzed by DNA polymerase.

Summary:
Enzymes that make or break phophoester bonds in DNA use metal ions (Mg2+) to activate the nucleophile and stabilize the transition state. Both EcoRV and DNA polymerase holdĀ  these Mg2+ ions in place with negatively charged carboxylates of aspartate residues.

dear journal entry,

today is pretty crappy. i’d much rather be spending my time rollerblading and being outside than stressing about papers without ever actually writing them. if i were rollerblading i could chase birds, and get much needed exercise.

alas, i am stuck here, thinking about papers and wanting sleep. and dragon fire.

that would be sweet.
